According to Jefferson CO public works, the problem with the hoh road repair is the loss of institutional knowledge and environmental regulators.. Guess which ones are the professionals?

Roads into the ONP like Deer Park and the Hoh have had federal support to maintain them for the benefit of ONP and counties. While deer park was closed as usual this winter, plows continued to run all the way to the closed gate, but the Hoh, typically open year round, was delayed funds, causing further damage. That decision was also made before Trump took office. Ozias and other Dems insist the tribes are the best stewards of the land and water because they were here first, but the pioneers and laborers who built and build the trails, roads and more are dismissed and shunned. Bring back the common sense of the people and by the people.

My apologies, Jeff, but my eyes glaze over when I see the word resilience or resiliency — the catchall dogwhistle for the political Left. Call it climate resiliency and it becomes a sham excuse for the Left’s big spending programs followed by the dogwhistle. On top of that, guys like Ozias campaign for affordable housing while lobbying for higher property taxes which will slam owners and renters alike. It’s all nonsense intended to keep the sheeples voting for his party and keeping his himself and his fellow travelers employed. That also explains why Ozias isn’t campaigning AGAINST pay-per-mile taxes that would hit residents in rural areas like ours the hardest.

Who in the heck elected Oziass? [sic] Oh yeah, the UNINFORMED voters who naively believe that Peninsula Daily News tells them both sides of a story. Reading Clallam County Watchdog should be a mandatory requirement before being allowed to vote!

And, thank you for adding the good news update, Jeff. Abra Cadabara, <POOF> No trailer! That's right up there with making a 747 disappear from a Las Vegas stage!

HA! Great comments~!

As long as the folks in Washington state keep tolerating the "no ID mail in voting only" crimes of the state and local governments, it won't matter what or who "we" vote for because that can VERY easily be corrupted by the criminals within our government and communities~! Yes, there are STILL (shockingly) also many uninformed voters who foolishly trust the mainstream media and local lying print media~! Have a great day and soon we may just see a BIG difference in the corrupt voting matrix that will pull the evil cloak of government deceit back for all to see what the criminals have been hiding for many decades~! Notice how Ozias deftly blames Trump for removing FEMA funds, but totally ignores the fact that FEMA is broke because all the money went to support illegal immigrants; Rob Peter. That's squarely on Biden and his Administration--first for allowing the illegals in and secondly for using FEMA funds to pay for it.

Meanwhile, accident after accident causing property damage to the tune of thousands of dollars to my home and heirloom fruit trees and fence, several times yearly. Calls to the county are met with a pat on the head and understanding. But my insurance premiums keep going up along with property taxes. Injuries and one fatality, and Ozias over there has his priorities in placating special interests. I’ve been told this is the most dangerous intersection in Clallam county. Petitions by my friends at the Sequim prairie grange went nowhere . Apparently the safety of my disabled son isn’t special enough for action.

Congratulations to Jeff and all who support the First Amendment. Last night's CRC meeting adds more evidence to all suspicions about CC's leadership. I believe 3 Commissioners planned, orchestrated, and executed a plot to not just restrict free speech, but augment the Chair's authority over the Commission and the public. Body language, tone, and conduct said it all last night. One Commissioner called some people "assholes" during the meeting. He's lucky the amendment failed, or we'd be holding him accountable for his speech. The Watch Dog is in the House!

Again the Tribe dictates. When will the people of Clallam County have enough ?

People tell the Tribe to stay home and take care of their own.

Mark Ozias needs to go. He is not involved in enhancing the lives of the citizens. It’s time to cut off the head of the snake and find someone whose interest is making life better in Clallam County. A person who doesn’t think tax tax tax, who has vision and knows people come first and Tribes can take care of their own with their own money.

An interesting work-around by Mr. O. A few months ago he advocated for tax payer money to prop up local media.

The first question I ask of myself is what is someone's motivation when they do anything, so I watch and observe.

Now add that Mr. O has a regular monthly column with one of the local media groups.

And again I ponder. Is he trying to control the message? Is he working to one day ascend into another level of politics, and if he does, who is waiting in the wings to backfill him?

I don't believe these things happen in a vacuum.

I can't imagine the reasons anyone would have to vote for them. That decrepid trailer would have remained in place for months had it not been fior the article. Expand full comment
Jeff Tozzer's avatar

You're welcome. Ozias says it would be on the honor system, so you just submit the miles driven in WA state at the end of the year. Maybe we can pay all our taxes on the honor system? Critics, including me, think widespread abuse of misreporting mileage would be a great reason for WA to install transponders that track location.

That is EXACTLY where this is headed! Transponders...what could go wrong?

The current vehicle licensing process is already an 'honor' system and I see dozens and dozens of out of date tabs (can't help it...kind of an ocd thing) many are multiple years out of date... and HUNDREDS of EXEMPT plates including gov'ts and (unmarked) private vehicles...so transponders here we come!?

So time for big brother to step in with autocratic control.

BTW...reducing the total amount of miles driven by All is part of the NEW GREEN DEAL AGENDA...indeed NOTHING happens by accident! Check out Agenda 21+++ and other NWO agents. God loves a good drama! TRUTH, JUSTICE, LIBERTY AND TOUGH LOVE!🤪

I currently have a transponder for reduced auto-insurance rates. It monitors speed, stopping/starting abruptness and routes regularly traveled. It is a 'voluntary' Social Credit Score but it is saving me about 40% on auto insurance which is a big deal for me. l don't like it one bit but the massive increases in the insurance scam-dustry (home also) is out of control.

Brave New World indeed!😱🤔😳🤪🥸

Seen a similar issue in Kalifornia. The road department pleads, “we’re broke, how can we pay for this?” In rides Arnold and he negotiates with the tribes to get them more machines in their casinos and in turn tribes get to pay its share of for the new interchange and bridge”. Voila! New casino + new bridge for Red Hawk Casino. Deepest pockets $$ are going to win in this case. Clallam County has a hole in its pocket. WSDOT is probable “more worried” about funding a future Whitefeather Rd roundabout after Seabrook boondoggle.

Arnold campaigned for his re-election on that issue. He won. Citizens and voters like knowing everyone is contributing to the tax man. Happy Income Tax Day! Haha.

More Teslas...LOTS of Teslas on our roads...gas taxes going through the roof...'tribe' not paying fair share...'Nozias' breaking the bank and sticking his communist nose in everybodys' business...sociopathic liar...traitor to the county and country...trying to subsidize local socialist news rags in which he is now featured...how many straws on the Camel's back is it going to take?

A pay-per-mile tax is a COMPLETE INVASION OF PRIVACY AND LOCALS ARE GOING TO BE DRIVING LESS OVERALL as taxes increase and cost-of-living shoots up.

We are looking at nothing less than a fascist/communist takeover of our citizen-sovereignty.

It has been like the Kudzu plague... stretching it's tentacles and creeping into our lives for decades.

Now it is HERE!

What will we do about it? We are the only ones who can do anything about it!

Thank The Stars that POS meth-trailer is gone from The Grange...I agree it probably came from 7022 OOH.

But that would be a dead-end pursuit... so pleased it was handled properly by someone with the guts to do the right thing!

There are many abandoned - wheeled - homeless shelters popping up all over the county...we need real leadership to deal with what's coming...and nothing can stop it from coming.

We need a citizen initiative to recall 'Nozias' and 'Frenchy'...we need strong, courageous leadership now more than ever. Unfortunately there are a lot of far-left dreamers who are asleep at the switch...we won't know how much grassroots support we have until we initiate something. I will gather signatures...while that is still allowed...I don't have the stamina and health to pursue full time politics but some righteous, moral ones do. Full support for 'Real World' office holders.

BTW, did anyone notice the body language of Randy Johnson when he stumbled into the BOCC meeting an hour after it started? Is he ok?

TRUTH, JUSTICE, LIBERTY AND TOUGH LOVE.😱😊😁🤪🥸

Great writeup and an interesting read, Ixodes.

It does ask a lot of questions, and you leave them unanswered often, OP. Do you think that the tribe should somehow lose its sovereignty? And the justification, if I'm following, is that because the county is having a hard time, we should turn to our neighbors, who are not, and take from them?
