Why does the Tribe, who is sovereign, who does not abide by our fish and game laws, who pays no taxes, be allowed to vote and peddle influence in the taxes we all have to pay? It seems to me that if they're sovereign, they have no business voting. If they vote, they have no business flaunting our laws and should pay taxes. It is simply wrong for them to have it both ways.

Think about it-- they can vote to triple our taxes while they, themselves, pay none. That's wrong!

Equal protection cases have never been filed with ICLEI contracts and oaths from NODC to live and work on tribal lands. There needs to be a new Boldt decision.

The trail only version Eberlie's, the tribe and the rest of the open space league want cannot pass SEPA with a "DNS." To have all this traffic and travel from all over the globe has significant impact. The impact fees to cover that environmental damage if proportionate to the impact fees we pay are astronomical. In other words, it needs a new SEPA. Right now I am thinking the DNS for neighborhood use is in line with the current DNS and minimal. With that minimal neighborhood DNS, the amount of tire particle contamination would not come close to the science obtained amount of traffic required for stormwater mitigation used by WSDOT at 101 over the Dungeness. It would be a fact that DLTA's own desires to increase traffic beyond neighborhood use to a global trail advocate clientele would require a new SEPA and would alter the current DNS designation. Even with that amount o traffic increase it still would not reach the levels on 101, Elwha or Jimmycomelateley. They are going to have to remove a whole lot of concrete if they want to push their window dressing in a court of law.

There is no way on paper the DLTA can win this if all the evidence is properly briefed and submitted. I will intervene to make sure that happens.

We all know who won't be getting our votes at the next election and we have plenty of ammo to ensure that others will not vote for the corrupt POS either. I look forward to saying "good riddance" when Ozi-ass is voted out and his political career ends. Maybe he can find a position of keeping Towne road clean of litter-- he'd look good in orange.

This is wonderful news. Thank you Jeff!

Wondering how DLTA has a standing to sue? This is one case where the honest Commissioners who are working for all of the county (and not their special interests) would be at risk of the civil penalties if the county charter were again allowing civil liability. The balance should be civil liability when there's a clear conflict of interest (Ozias on Towne Road, Ozias on the gravel pit, Ozias on anything the tribe wants, Ozias on the NODC and more) vs the county commissioners that are doing their best to do the job they were elected to do.

I really have a great deal of respect and gratitude to Commissioner Johnson. He is a voice of reason. Commissioner French has surprised in a very positive way and I hope he continues to do so. The road was ALWAYS a part of the plan. Or at least the plan that the community saw. And the levee was built to accommodate lots of traffic.

Is the tribe going to launder some of their money through DLTA to support a lawsuit?

If they bring it based on 6PPD-q, I know a few neighbors of the farmer that might just find their way to bringing a civil suit against said farmer. He is harming them by regularly contaiminating their acquifers with 6PPD-q from farm and vehicular tires on the wetlands. The standing? He and his wife are founding members of the DLTA and have publicly acknowledged that 6PPD-q is harmful to the acquifers, tributaries, salmon, people (their republished research articles show as much) etc yet they continue to pollute away with it on their farm. Unmitigated farming over wetlands, creeks, tributaries will kill us all and not just the salmon.

(Edited to correct typos)

Given how many people traversed Towne Road via car on Saturday, without stopping at the event at the Eberle Barn, it's clear it has been a missed, vital connector.

Finally, with all due respect to pioneering family descendents, I'm not sure why it matters that the event was held for a Lotzgesell descendent AT the Eberle Barn when traffic is overflowing to their namesake, unmitigated road (Lotzgesell) due to the closure of Towne Road? There's irony here. If the pioneering family descendents are so important, it should've been held at a Lotzgesell location. The Eberles came later. But wait, they have an "event venue" so it was convenient (there's that word again). Also, did the original pioneering families buy their land from the tribe and pay them a fair price?

I mean if they want to restore Dean Creek and the historic flood plain and saltwater marsh at Jimmycomelately,by tearing down the casino and hotel and that huge parking lot, that would be fair and consistent. I can't believe somebody would be that oblivious to the unfairness of the situation.......... unless they were after reparations and a reckoning...

Great let it be reviewed, let those citizens waste their time and money trying to stop it. It's a done deal and the expected wailing and gnashing of teeth was expected.

“Not a lot new to say today….but again…..Always intended to feature a trail, the road component was always considered optional….from the very beginning the trail was a given the road was not” said Commissioner Mark Ozias.

This above is the LAND OF OZ! Some made up place of make believe.

“February 16, LEVEE WAS DESIGNED as a ROAD! Engineer reminds leaders of project goal….”

Ozias is not telling the truth, he is not factual, he is a CON job and the tax payers didn’t buy it for one single second. Thank you Jeff for exposing all (probably not all but most) the true facts, saving a County Right of Way and restoring the use of tax-payer hard earned money for what it was truly intended!

Yes thank you again Jeff for keeping us updated on what’s happening with Town Road, a road tax payer funded, for the completion of Town Road. I must have been sleeping on the job previously as I had no idea all this was happening until your watch dog report. I cannot believe the audacity of Ozias to try and keep this road from completion when “we” have already paid for it!! And 10 times he’s tried to stop it to help his own political interests?! Wow!! I’m awake now and will be keeping a closer eye on where and what my taxes are paying for and who is trying to not use them as we taxpayers have already stipulated. The nerve of some politicians is insane!! When is he up for reelection??? And exactly where do I look to see who my commissioner is based on what my address is?? I’m thankful to the other two, Johnson and French for following thru and very thankful to you Jeff for keeping us posted!!!

Ozias just ran unopposed and began his 3rd 4-year term on January 1st of this year. Here is a map of the 3 commissioner districts: https://www.clallamcountywa.gov/DocumentCenter/View/5445/Board-of-County-Commissioners-District-Map-PDF?bidId=

Oh no!!! 4 more years!!! Good grief has he always been like this?? Looking out for personal interest groups and his political backers instead of the remainder out of us the taxpayers? thank you for giving me that information. I truly appreciate that. Like I said, I guess I was kind of sleeping on the job and not paying attention as much as I should’ve with what was happening with my tax dollars and happening around me disabilities tend to keep you focused in one area when my area needs to be where I live. Thanks again, Jeff. You’re amazing. I appreciate all your hard work. Keep it up. We need you.

Sorry Billy, but my history of wearing distasteful Halloween costumes (and the photographic evidence) would eliminate me from any election more important than that of a HOA president.
