Six roundabouts is totally absurd! I'm convinced WADOT are utter idiots.

Does anybody know of any other Tribes in our country that have total control of a taxpayer funded public road? We are puppets on a string. Why people take their hard earned money and give it to the casino is beyond my comprehension...many more worthy causes are available to give away your money to...

LOL, exactly my thoughts. Remember Bizarro World from the Old Superman Comic Books 60+ years ago, where everything was perverted? I think of this when I read the daily nonsense from the government of the people, by the people, and for the people, which, BTW, ALWAYS seems to work AGAINST the people! Maybe it's time for 10,000 angry people with pitchforks to confront them, LOL.

12 seconds is nothing for a car compared to a semi time witch will snarl traffic up for over a minute while said semi gets back up to speed. Not to mention all the cars that will cut off all the semi's trying to get into the round about just so they can get ahead of it.

Stupidest idea ever. Enjoy all the accidents that will come

I’m curious how the Tribe feels about the new development being proposed between JW Marina and Blyn. For all that we (taxpayers) spent via federal agencies to buy and restore the Dawley property, it would be a slap in the face for the county to permit a development right next door. Surely Mr. Ozias is ready to be just as obstinate for the Seabrook-type proposal as he has been against the HV gravel pit and the Towne Road repave.

Also the tribe is getting their kicks… living in the moment.

I generally like roundabouts (when people understand them and how they work). They do create flow when used properly. I rear ended a woman at the Sequim Walmart roundabout a few years ago when she made 2 false starts and then took off (with no traffic in the roundabout) and then dead stopped 25 feet into the roundabout (for no discernible reason). I got upset and yelled at her which wasn't kind but it was a really stupid move. 2 days later she had a heart attack and said it was because of me and my insurance paid her $100,000. My insurance rate went up $12/month which is fine... but it has gone up another 40% because of the kinds of drivers and behaviors we now have here in the county. I have had no tickets or accidents for over 30 years prior to this. Guess which state she was from?

Damn! I could have claimed some adverse effects due to my own stupid move and cashed in? Well, lookee here-- ya learn somethin' every day! Again, I refer to Bizarro world, where the inept and incompetent get rewarded for their stupity and those with common sense end up paying. Texas is looking better and better.

How the hell did the tribe gain this much power? Agenda 21/30/50, etc. Creeping fascism with good works attached. We the people get fooled all the time. We are the fools. Complacent, hypnotized, docile and apathetic. Hard to wake up from this nightmare/daymare!

Wow this is ridiculous so we the tax payers will be paying for the study for years, which no other county has to do just to appease the tribe who doesn’t pay taxes to the county. Oh my gosh, really!!

They also pay no road taxes on all their vehicles including all the heavy commercial equipment for their construction company(s). I can hardly believe how many exempt plates in Clallam County. That means we all pick up the tab for their no-tabs. Disgusting.

That’s just wrong and yet they get happens! I don’t like it at all!!

I love Sequim, but Idaho is looking better and better by the day....

Didn’t you see that Idaho just stopped water to 500,000 acres of farm land too! Good grief it’s exploding everywhere! Not sure what we can do but I’ll keep looking into it! Open to suggestions

Idaho politics are sane. If water is curtailed it is because of a serious drought, not because some Tribe is manipulating rights.

Well when you put it like that…. Dang… there has to be a solution. How about IF you (the tribe) want to be apart of the county process you need to anti up a portion of the cost! There has to be something…

I totally agree only they aren’t paying for anything to do with our county!

Round-a-bouts I don’t like either because it DOES add time to any commute & freeways and highways were designed and invented to streamline the commute, however I get the goal now is to avoid left turn fatalities. What about head on fatalities of which there are many also, people crossing over the center line. Safest would be to block any left turns on Hwy 101 and force driving to nearest round-a-bout to reverse direction and remove all turn arounds that tax payer money was spent on not too long ago. Government always finds a way to spend our hard earned tax dollars to micro manage every aspect of our lives.

Yup! They say that we get the government we deserve. Obviously, more than half the people in this county think Oziass is the best thing since sliced bread. Or maybe it's all those vacant lots, gas stations, convenience stores, and dead people that are doing all the voting for miscreants like that.

I wish I had something good to say other than “oh boy here we go again”.

Honestly, I haven’t read the details of this yet, but the shear number (not even including the ones between Sequim and the Hood Canal) reminds me a lot of Gig Harbor.

Gig Harbor has 3 lanes multi round-a-bouts and many merge points where accidents are prone to occur especially in roundabouts with more than four streets and multi-lanes. The more traffic coming onto a roundabout, the greater the risk of collisions. There are also drivers that change lanes in multi-land roundabouts which adds to the danger. This impacts pedestrians and bicyclists as well. A lot of collision possibilities which is great for the insurance companies job security & justification to continue to raise rates?

I get dizzy just thinking about those in Gig Harbor. What in the world were they thinking?

Jeff thanks again for this report. I use both the mill rd and Carlsberg Rd interchanges often and will be grateful for those round abouts. Also i have had trouble seeing pedestrians at Sequim and River road crossings. Glad to see these safety upgrades.

Also am very grateful for the round about at woodcock and Sequim rds. Makes my daily travels safer.

Buy one of Wes Washburn's old chevy's and make a better hole shot. We can't convert the only freight corridor into a regional arterial..Time for a Carlsberg bypass...like the one in Sequim.

Monitoring rubber particulates? Gimme a break! what will they do if they find some? Close the road?I think we should monitor the rising level of Tribal and political bullshit from this project as it is getting waist deep.

Is there a time limit the Tribe can stop the Towne Road project from going forward?

I haven't seen a time limit in the digging I have done (but maybe someone else knows.)

I understand why some people like the roundabouts, because sometimes they do help keep the flow of traffic moving, just like the one on Woodcock and Sequim-Dungeness. With few cars and fewer pedestrians using it, everything moves in a fluid sync. However, when the roundabouts are placed in heavily trafficked areas, things get very dicey, for vehicles and pedestrians. It's dog-eat-dog upon approach and entrance. I have yet to cross as a pedestrian at the Old Olympic and S-D one. I let my life insurance lapse. It reminds me of a crop circle. I should stand in the middle, flail my arms, and shout, "E.T. land here!" Thank you, Jeff, for updating us on these concerning agendas. No matter how frustrating the news is, I still appreciate your continued postings.

They are setting up Carlsberg for the retail sales and sales tax machine, the same one they want at 7 cedars. It is a complete shit show.
