This is how they earn their money, kinda like Park Design Consultants. (I seem to remember reading somewhere that somebody involved in this mess has a business designing parks.)
This is what they received from DOE grants for the 2023-25 grants cycle for "consulting".
I would think being funded by public money; they would be subject to a FOIA request as to WHO requested their assistance in this matter. I think we all have a pretty good guess, but conformation is always good.
Bonneville Environmental Foundation
Facilitation and Technical Assistance
As the primary partner in the public-private Floodplains by Design partnership, the Bonneville Environmental Foundation will provide critical program support, including statewide technical assistance, technical studies, and facilitation of public-private-tribal advisory groups related to implementing the proposed capital projects.
Leo - Derrick Eberle has a landscape architecture and environmental design firm called Baumwelt (DBA Baumwelt Landscape Architecture) based out of Tacoma
He's a "Licensed landscape architect passionate about ecologically conscientious design and construction. Experienced in parks and other public space projects." according to his LinkedIn
I was wondering if his company might 'win the bid' for design/maintenance in the event that Ozias goes back on his word AGAIN and halts the project
Great information!! If he doesn't there is always the "Dungeness Off Channel Reservoir Park" that he expressed interest in in the first batch of Emails. That first batch of Emails had some big gaps in the conversations between Oz and Eb, I wonder if some of the blanks could be filled in with a (wake up Jeff) FOIA request for this address derrick@thebaumwelt.com.
Good catch, Jeff, to anticipate this next move. I am always suspicious about any NGO. I prepared notes to speak at Tuesday's meeting regarding arcane language and the abundance of acronyms. It becomes confusing and too easy to hide true intent. Thanks for immediately alerting everyone. You're simply the best.👋
A. Johnson: I read an excellent comment from you that I sadly can no longer find. I could read your musings all day. Thanks for keeping the conversation moving along.
F'ing Communists! Sue them! I will contribute a few $hundred toward a lawsuit if need be. These tyrannical actions by the county commissioners has GOT to stop.
With a burned down house, insurance rates due to rise, and the county withholding information, I think the county (and sadly, we, the Taxpayers) are flirting with future litigation. It might even be a class-action lawsuit of the people suing the county or taking our road away.
I would send this letter to Floodplain by Design and ask them if BEF has permission to use their logo. If they don’t have permission, it seems fraudulent and misleading. Clearly the person writing the letter has never been to the Towne Road levee and is unaware that the levee is a road being used as a road for landowners and various folks… And I hope the county rejects any and all letters received after the time for public comment has come and gone.
AND furthermore - have you ever WALKED that during the summer when there is NO SHADE??? It's made to sound like a lovely stroll through verdant land.........it's wicked hot and intense - carry water/wear sunscreen AND a hat (I'm always in favor of a hat!).................staying PESKY!!
I'd guess that Floodplains by Design has granted BEF permission to use the logo because they're partnered per Leo's comment.
The company I work for has a similar setup. My boss owns his business solely, but is partnered with another business (of which he has no ownership). All of our marketing materials have both logos.
It's like a 'parent company' situation or DBA. or trade name.
BEF has offices (and business licenses) in both OR and WA
I spoke with Dr. G and exchanged a few emails; she is very pleasant and generous with her time when answering questions. She assured me that BEF has permission to use that logo, but I'm still confused -- BEF and "Floodplains" have different stances. I'd say, their stances are nearly opposite. "Floodplains" gave the county $7M with the understanding, and "blessing" that a road would be relocated. BEF wants to pause, and possibly derail, the road being completed. The DOE and "Floodplains" give hundreds of thousands of our taxpayer money to BEF and then, at the 11th hour, BEF second guesses what DOE and "Floodplains" have agreed to? That's the part that I can't quite grasp.
Greenwash, of course! This just further erodes trust in our county which is so sad because we are a small community. We bump into our elected leaders buying groceries for heaven's sake (and they suddenly become intent on reading a label on a can until you pass them... or maybe that's just my experience.)
LEGALLY! Despite the criticism that is due for the top tier county leaders, the vast majority of county employees are working tirelessly to keep county government functioning, and those employees share the same objectives as we do: they want what is best for the county. We really are fortunate to have most people in the courthouse sharing that sentiment.

I'm on it Leo, thanks.

Things that make ya go hmmmmmmm......
Angel, you are amazing! Okay, I'm just going to try something because I think you know how to find out: Where is Jimmy Hoffa?
I just saw you bring that up over at ND!!!!! Wow!
Wow! You’re kidding! I guess I WAS born yesterday! Not surprised.

It takes something between a "gentle nudge" and a "spiteful b**ch slap" to get me to do something... I'm on it!
I'll stick with the "gentle nudge", I'll leave the other one to Lady Voldemort!!
Task completed, master.

I see what you did there! That sounds like a perfect public comment for Tuesday, better than all the rest.

Count me in $$ - I'll donate too!

Since I live in Oregon - I'm tempted to CALL her (author) and ask to meet............let's see where that goes!
First question for reporter Bonnie: Doctor, have you ever visited the Towne Road levee?
AND furthermore - have you ever WALKED that during the summer when there is NO SHADE??? It's made to sound like a lovely stroll through verdant land.........it's wicked hot and intense - carry water/wear sunscreen AND a hat (I'm always in favor of a hat!).................staying PESKY!!
And the summer is when the piles of dog crap really heat up and start to reek.
Called and she never answered or returned my call - I will stay pesky though !
I should have known you would! Oh Bonnie, you just out-pesked a pesker. Nicely done.
Just putting the finishing touches on the letter you recommended... great idea!

As usual, Jeff, you are ahead of the curve--a master at uncovering the hidden. Thank you for all you do. I'll see you Monday morning!
I learned from someone who is simply the best. Don't forget, you owe Sarah a coffee :)
Gaslight + Greenwash = nefarious and suspicious!!!

I what way were the letters (?) intercepted?
