I don’t understand why they think they can have meetings where we the people who elected them, and pay their salaries, don’t get to say anything at their meetings or why they don’t include a time slot in the meetings for us their constituents! I’m becoming more upset by this lack of concern about what we the taxpayers are funding that they aren’t doing! Things need to change and soon! I’m all for recalls and anything else possible to correct this abhorrent behavior! Never done anything like this but I’m willing to get in there and assist whomever knows how to get this started!! I’d like to start with Ozias!!

This is a small scale of a larger issue… we are all feeling the tension and are greatly irritated… ignored… they have no idea

I understand Towne Road was a joint endeavor with JST, however the money for the levee is tax payer dollars not tribal money. Again why is the County waiting for JST approval allowing a County Road to be governed & controlled by them? No response, move on, like what happens everywhere else in the world.

I think we are all just getting warmed up!

Whatever the objections the tribe has is only valid because they are inserted partners. Futhermore, after signing the ICLEI charter they are no longer a tribal entity but an international one. Finally, it better jive with the Jimmycomelately or the Elwha.

Yes… let them ante up for the filter they desire.. they rushed their knock d down of the old levee.. that’s on them. Do they have that for the jimmy or the elwa????

No, they mitigated those rivers to protect tribal development. Its a game over if anybody in the Dungeness wants to file aa suit in the federal court.

This latest delay started with the apology letter to the Tribe. I'm still waiting for my apology letter from the Tribe. Thank you, Jeff, for going to the meeting to make this current posting. The longer this takes, the wiser more people will become. People will start complaining about why it's taking so long to finish Towne Road, and start asking who's in charge. Luckily, we have the answers.

Wow! 4000 views. 900 subscribes. I have been hoping for more. That's great!

Nothing like a bunch of small minded bureaucrats getting well paid to do nothing useful, or worse... being destructive. Change is afoot! Thanks Jeff!

"The road to hell is paved and has stormwater mitigation technology that the County has to pay for at the insistence of the project partner who caused the whole problem to begin with."

AND doesn’t bother to reply in an obvious attempt to hold up the project AGAIN? When is the remaining Commissioners going to do the job they were elected to do, forget Ozias he’s never going to work for the tax payer.

Remember the expression "Taxation without representation" and what was the remedy? Well, our county seems to tax us, deny us, lie to us, but NOT represent us. We must remember this in November, when we have an opportunity to oust them. We need to be overwhelming, because we KNOW they will cheat. They mail ballots to fictitious registrants, then when the ballots are returned as undeliverable, someone, somehow fills them out and slips them in among the legitimate ones. And it's not just here:

Consent vs consultation. The tribes were able to get law passed in 2021 by slipping it into a bill Inslee passed without him even knowing it.

Post the reference to that bill please 😊

I understand the issue of consent… why it it’s important to indigenous people. They understand snakes and in that understanding used that understanding. In the case of Town road the levee the flooding they used that snake maneuver… they straddle the law the trust of the people including their people. Ignite division… they cheat and manipulate thru word salad…

That law will only go so far…

Good grief that’s awful!

So happy to see your Substack grow… I really do not think anyone prior to your watchdog reporting realized we were being gutted. It has diminished ANY good the Tribe has purported to have done…

Thank you again and again❣️🌴🌺☀️

I disagree. Jamestown Tribal Government has done some excellent work in our county. However! Their government has become overly powerful on the lives of the plain ole Clallam County citizen over the last 5yrs/10 yrs or so. I believe Ron Allen‘s power over the people attitude created a huge division in our county, which was not there prior to the MAT clinic. It could’ve been handled way differently.

If the Tribes are "sovereign", that means they are, essentially, their own government, since they pay no taxes and are immune to our fish and game regulations. So, how is it that they meddle in our politics and projects??? Asking for a friend.

This is exactly the attitude I am picking up on after speaking out about the planned development of STR on the property owned by John Wayne enterprises and the rumor it is all sold to Casey Roloff of Seabrook, in Pacific Beach (Grays Harbor County)

Having been a direct neighbor of that project in Pacific Beach, I intently watched actions promised to locals disappear after permitting process was completed. Sequim Bay is much more sensitive to run off and construction noise, pollution , and disruption than Seabrook sitting high above the Pacific Ocean. Cut, scrape, clear without leaving any native vegetation is obvious even looking at the developments own web site. It was heart breaking in Pacific Beach, as no locals were hired, I can’t express my feelings of dread if this goes through. What is lost in our environment when it could be stopped will be on the shoulders of the permitting group. With visions of tax revenue dancing in the eyes of commissioners, I doubt they would welcome this construction to interrupt the peace and quiet we have grown to love on the peninsula. Phase One is for 600 stand alone houses. BTW: Got okay to add 1300 more homes? in Pacific Beach. Total close to 2,000 second homes/resort dwellings .

Yours truly,
