It is time for the impulsive liar to be removed if not prosecuted !

It seems fairly clear that Mr. Ozias cannot be trusted to tell the truth. Such a person should not be allowed to make decisions for our county... The deeper we look the worse it gets and IMO he should be removed from office for ethics violations and blatantly lying to his constituents.

What would it take to remove him from office?

Of all the things I've researched, I haven't researched that. The PA City Council undergoing a recall petition may shed some light on the process.

I believe it's being looked into...

Ozias has gone to school of Democrat politics. This is the current favored political tool of the blue team especially; To project upon and accuse your political opponent, or even someone you don't like, of what you are guilty. I think you are spot on. He lies and uses disinformation to his advantage. He wields his power for those that line his pockets. And he wants his constituents to believe that he does not. This, of course, is like most politicians of any color. But it is particularly hard to take any politician serious that accuses others of what he is guilty. And you are correct to draw the correlation with national politics as our country crumbles around us due to this very tactic. It is extremely divisive and blatant gaslighting that has no place in the repertoire of a true leader. Once you recognize this tactic, you will see it everywhere, and when you do, you should dismiss that person as worthy of an elected position.

The gravity of Ozias’s letter projects exactly what is being done by those on the left when Biden is not held accountable for misuse of documents, documents destroyed by Jan 6 committee, rioting by BLM, threatening Supreme Court Justice, Biden and Garland contempt of court, two made up impeachments, spying on Trump campaign by Clinton Foundation & much more. Ozias is suppose to be non-partisan, he clearly & overwhelming is not and the letter is further proof. NONPARTISAN: free from party affiliation or bias.

Again Ozias lies and has lied from the very beginning. Ozias is partisan & can not be trusted to represent all people as evidenced by his decisions as Commissioner.

PARTISAN: 1. a fervent and even militant proponent of something 2. an ardent and enthusiastic supporter of some person or activity, devoted to a cause or party. This all applies and Ozias fits the definition to a tee. Please don’t raise your hand and say your non-partisan when your clearly not, most politicians think we’re not really paying attention, we are.

Taking an oath to live and work in the appropriated lands of 4 different tribes, all under treaty that paid for those lands, is cause for recall. The problem is when the Prosecutor is also a Democrat, the recall does nowhere. If he was a sheriff talking about covid policy the Prosecutor would have referred it to the court, the media would have reported it, and the recall would move forward. Democrats control the entire government machinery here. They are all bums.

🤥 Correctomundo spot on.

People see & judge differently, have and will be, because your definition of “clean” can be much different than my definition of clean. I think we can all relate to politicians, say one thing turn around and say the exact opposite, pretty much. Executive order for the border crisis is a current example happening right now. Where is the accountability? WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY? History shows the Indians would not tolerate lies & deception otherwise there were dire consequences to those who betrayed their people. WE THE PEOPLE must insist and demand all people be treated equally right? Equality is all I here these days but is only applied to some! Speaking up, showing up, standing up and making your voices be heard is so important especially now because things have gone too far the other way. Thank you Jeff for being the encouragement, for being an example of courage & helping people see clearly the truth through facts & examples. Support groups function much the same way, through transparency we are never alone in our experiences, feelings, confusion & convictions.

I’m going to take grandson out to levee he loves front loaders, anything big & involving lots of dirt ❤️

Regardless of political bent, this is a great example of why "honest politician" is:

a) an oxymoron

b) as rare to sight as Bigfoot

c) fake news

d) all of the above

As the comments unfold, it's fascinating to see some members of this community readily taking a political side about this article.

Maybe this post is really: "If you're going to point a finger, remember there are three pointing back at you".  You know, the old "don't throw stones if you live in a glass house" adage.

Beyond this specific substack article, this forum has proven one thing: community members from different political viewpoints can come together to support something that is good for the community. Transparency and accountability in our local government is something we all should demand. Thank you Jeff for continuing to push for this.

(And I think you can hear the heavy equipment getting to work on Towne Road. What a wonderful day.)

Jeff, you were courageous on Tuesday to stand up at the podium and wait for your answer from Ozias. Since he does not attend Public Forums, he has to answer at the BoCC meetings. His response was confusing, and I think most would say the same. I wonder if he sent the same type of letter admonishing the WA State elected politicians over the BLM/Antifa riots that persisted for 18+ months. Not to mention the wrongful lockdown, vaccine mandates, social distancing, and mask mandates imposed on us for 2+ years. We need transparent, steadfast, pro-citizen, fiscally responsible people in office. The only way to attain that goal is to do what everyone on this site has been doing-commenting, sharing viewpoints, and getting involved. Thank you, Jeff, for your continued dogged hunt for the truth.

You're welcome, Denise. Thanks for being a weekly fixture at the meetings. We will get to the bottom of this, I'm sure of it.

As always, Jeff, I appreciate all you do to promote transparency and accountability in our county government. But, I nave to give a thumbs down to this post. The egregious behavior of our county official is a far cry from that of the national political figure Ozias referenced in his letter. The analogy is a quantum stretch, in my opinion.

Expand full comment

I agree it is a far cry, and that's why it was important to me to write, "No one is comparing the events in Washington, D.C., to what has transpired in the Commissioners’ boardroom over the last ten months."

I intended to draw a parallel between Ozias' expectations of his elected leader and our expectations of County leaders. It may be that we are comfortable with this behavior on a local level but not on a national level. Or perhaps there is an acceptable level of lies, deceit, disinformation, and erosion of integrity that comes with local representation. I'm sure readers have varying thresholds for these traits.

Personally, I think if Ozias is so vehemently against this behavior, he should be an example of how -not- to behave this way.

You might want to do some independent research about the subject. 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' is a real and present danger to our nation. So is Ozias.

Watcing Ozias comment on your question Jeff was stunning. As he muddled through answering your question the half hearted reply reminded me of trying to think and talk at the same time… you only get a repeat of what was read not an answer.

We are engaged in extremely difficult times. Staying focused on our counties needs and holding the road (no pun intended) so to speak is an important lesson for all of us who live here. It’s not all for some and the rest of you just keep walking. This is Community… we are all involved one way or another!

We all prosper or we all perish! We need not perish at hand of greed or ambition!

Ozias is bound to answer for his overstepping along with those in the Tribe who have manipulated his weakness. The price to pay will take years to get past…

Years

One needs to make their words tasty… just in case they need to eat them.
