They always attack the messenger (Jeff) having no defense for their wickedness and deceit.
A letter was presented to the Sequim city council in 2018 about the corruption of the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal (JST) , asking that they address the issue. Nothing was done.
The comment made to Jeff "we have observed that the opinions in your posts reflect a consistently negative spin on the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, local governments, our community hospital, taxation, and local nonprofit organizations."
Seems if you question anything that JST does or supports they treat us like our rights end where their feelings begin.
Keep on raising questions there is so much more to be exposed. Thank You
I pondered about my vote and ended up with a "no" vote, fairly confident with my usual research about people and issues I am voting about. HOWEVER, upon further pondering, I must confess if I was informed somebody I was thinking about voting for was endorsed by SGGL, I WOULD reconsider. Our continuing gratitude to Jeff for educating us...he and CC Watchdog are treasures!
Thank you, Jeff and Victor. You are brave and patriotic men who reveal what Sequim residents don't want to see - corruption. There is another group forming here in our area called Indivisible. It focuses on getting left-wing candidates on the ballot using the same format as SGGL. It is a national group, so it will have deep pockets. So buckle up, CC! We have a rough ride ahead of us. Small town, big city problems.
Interesting, Alex is one of the Facebook admins for Indivisible Sequim (1K members), same photo in this article for Alex Fane. Alex also sits on the Charter Review Commission. Wonder how that happened?
I went back and relistened to the Charter Review Commission meeting where he brought up what's most important to him and it's ranked choice voting (RCV). RCV inherently is a confusing concept, and as we all know confusion is a tool of control for those with agendas. With an overwhelming population of seniors confusion becomes all the more effective.
After reading about SGGL and learning their ideology, I would be more inclined to vote in opposition to any of their recommendations. Reading the in-depth post by Stan, reinforces my belief that higher education has become a means to propagandize Socialist/Marxist ideology and promote the right of the government over the right of the individual. Victor Lazlo’s statement, “we also need to bring back the original view of the role of government, which was to protect Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Property”, is imminently important to embrace today.
Bang on, Jeff! As a victim of SGGL and Tim Wheeler's practices during my time on the Board of Save our Sequim, I can assure your readers that SGGL is nothing but a front for Tim Wheeler and his communist agenda. SGGL's leadership is based on Marxism--dedicated to dividing people based on race, politics and cross gender ideology. Tim Wheeler is a stooge for the Tribe, doing their dirty work and getting accolades from the Tribe for doing so.
I'm so sick of these far far left ideologues with their unctuous words of honesty, integrity, accessibility, inclusiveness, transparency, equity, diversity, competence, accountability, using facts and reason, exhibiting ethical behaviors, and respecting the rule of law.
It's the dishonest storm of happy words to shield their miserable governance.
This WILL change. This I promise you. A new wave is coming. We will outspend you and tear down your wall of duplicity.
C.C. watchdog is spot on for exposing county issues and JKT has been involved with some of the issues. Some people will complain when issues are pointed at JKT because they are probably JKT supporters.Just go back a short time ago when P.A. commissioners awarded JKT construction a multi million $$$ contract which was illegal because by law it was supposed to be put up for bid.Only small works issues can be awarded without public bid which used to be under 50K$$$.This issue could have costed the county a very large lawsuit amount but was avoided because i think c.c. watchdog group made this issue known to clallam county and the housing development awardment to JKT was rejected shortly after complaints were made on this forum. So jeff Tozzer just keep up the good work and don''t let the bellyachers cause you any stress just double down and keep informing the readers on Clallam county issues.I think clallam county mayor should be looking very closely at the JKT involvement with county elected officials.
Janisse, Mayor, is a turncoat, was a turncoat from the beginning. He would sneak around at the City Meetings in the dark of night, never speaking at the microphone (should have been a tip off) when we were packing the Hall to protest the MAT clinic and he would tell people outside he was an ex-military conservative and he was against the MAT clinic so he could get people to vote for him for the City Council seat. At the time the council was reformed from a liberal council to a 3-3 council and needed one more to be conservative, so backers THOUGHT Janisse was our guy! WRONG! HE WAS A LIAR, A TURNCOAT was elected & he then voted for the MAT clinic & a bunch of other things that have hurt the city of Sequim. He always sides for the JST, SGGL and depends on City Attorney, Christine to guide him. Look at him now, celebrated like Liz Chaney……..celebrated by who, all the Indivisible, SGGL, JST, Tim Wheeler (a dues paying registered US Communist) all the phoney people who don’t want you to know what they are up to.
This is real people, this is no joke or made up story, they will take everything from everyone including themselves and then cry, help me!
Wow Jeff. That is very revealing. I had no idea just how deep the communists had infilterated. Right out of their playbook. But how to get rid of them? Tim Wheeler and those like him are a disease. I dont think the tribes really know who they are buddying up to. Its like the old scorpion and the frog story. No one knows how they really are except people like Victor who has been there. They know how to make it sound all rosey to the locals. Most of the people that vote for these commie pricks are just sheep. They are brainwashed. You cant get them past orange man bad. That and the devious voter manipulation will keep the conservatives down. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.
Please Lloyd what ever you think, please don’t think the tribe is a victim and they don’t know the lay of the land…….the victims are stupid people who live in the land of OZ & will continue to live there forever no matter what happens they will never change or see any other way……we have to save those worth saving and leave the rest. The tribe is well aware & it works well for them for now……….???????????
Yeah, you are right about the tribes. They are in a class by themselves. And it isnt America first for sure. What I was getting at is the communists are using them the same way they are using blm and antifa and the rainbow mafia to band together. In reality, if they ever actually get ahold of this country. The tribes will get left in the dust. Not sorry....
I agree with Lloyd. Well said. It’s sad to see that PEOPLE can’t think for themselves, let’s follow the leader. Sometimes I feel like we’re all back in high school, the popular vs the average kid.
Everyone keep up the work, let’s take them all out 🎉
Well done Jeff!!! I only wish I could vote in Sequim Elections. My biggest concern with the City of Sequim Acknowledgements is the emphasis on "Government to Government" communications. The Towne Road debacle has taught us these types of communications are not subject to the OPMA. SGGL support of Openness and Transparency is apparent.
The question people should be asking themselves. Do you want to trust someone who ascribes to communism but has never lived under it's rules and waxes poetically how great it is, or trust someone who has lived under communism and seen it's failings and oppression and believe them when they say we're better off as America?
One is a poser, the other, a survivor thankful for being able to live in America.
It's interesting that those with general progressive, dare I say socialist desires, align themselves with a communist propagator. I see it as an effort to destroy America. I bet they wave flags too along with their word-salad objectives.
Recently, I submitted a Guest Opinion column to the Gazette addressing the council's hypocrisy and SGGL's complicity. Unlike the days when Mike Dashiell was the Gazette's editor, when my submissions were published often, guess what the Gazette did this time? Yep, spiked it, and very likely at the direction of Eran Kennedy, the Gazette's and PDN's publisher. The Gazette and PDN are apparently no longer interested in allowing public opinion on their op-ed pages that may not align with their own and the SGGL's.
The papers just ran articles by Jamestown CEO Ron Allen reminding us how good the Tribe is for the community and Mark Ozias reminding us how great the commissioners are doing.
The tribe is like a gang. They tag everything, like gangs tag with their graffiti, to let you know they are there and it’s their territory, like dogs do when they pee, they are letting other dogs know, hey I’m here I’m marking my territory. Ask yourself, do you see Americans tagging anything? Do you see Americans going on reservation land and hanging American symbols everywhere, NO. THE ANSWER IS NO. Someone said to me, “Well the Statue of Liberty was a gift and it stands”. I answered, “Yes it was a gift like that totem pole at City Hall but the difference is France isn’t involved in our government like the tribe is in our government and our local politics”.
I may be wrong here but I thought our current president just outlawed all DEI? Was this just Federal not state? He said we are going back to a merit based system which is what grew our great nation up until 2020 anyway. I will, and never have voted for anything to do with DEI. It is anything but diverse, equitable, or inclusive. It's actually the exact opposite, and the people governing our town should remove everything and everyone who has anything to do with it IMO. Thanks for keeping us updated Jeff and keep it coming. The more noise they make just tells us you are over the target and they're starting to worry.
Terrific article Jeff. As usual their tactic is to accuse the opposition of the exact thing they are doing… I love that the motives of this “non-partisan” group have been so clearly defined in their own actions.
"Qualified" when pertaining to a winner of an election means that for such election:
(1) The results have been certified;
(2) Any required bond has been posted; and
(3) The winner has taken and subscribed an oath or affirmation in compliance with the appropriate statute, or if none is specified, that he or she will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of the office to the best of his or her ability. This oath or affirmation shall be administered and certified by any officer or notary public authorized to administer oaths, without charge therefor.
Both Port Angeles and Sequim have this cockamamie idea that they don't have to have a bond pursuant to RCW 42.08. The are wrong. Everything they have passed since they took office is void because they were never qualified to hold office without a bond.
Sorry to be brusque, but it's exactly this kind of nonsense that gives SGGL and The Indivisibles Exhibit A for "Look how nutty They are."
If you want to beat these people and their agenda, you have to get rid of the tin foil hats, the conspiracy nonsense, and the espousing of legalese claptrap.
If only the global and tribal contract trail they are afraid of showing on a screen during the Commissioner's hearings wasn't telling the truth, your words might mean something. Its not tinfoil now its a censored fact to save red faces.. They joined an international Rico act organization that took federal funds to spend on what the United Nations and tribes wanted them to spend it on...not the citizens..That's grant fraud and they should have registered as foreign agents. That's a reparations payment just like the one DOGE is going to send us. How do you like being a globalist that puts the world and the tribes before your neighbor..
There was a broken relationship. The tribes are right. DOGE has shown us how its broken. Instead of the BIA taking care of the tribal share, they intercepted it at USAID. Then the local tax payer had to pull the tribes weight with gas taxes and property taxes. That is a double DOGE check to every Clallam County resident. Every community with the ICLEI Charter and NGO/SERN system.
If the law is "tin foil," we are in serious trouble. Exhibit A should be the bond requirement for Mayors and councilmembers, not claiming someone should be recalled for failing to abide by the law. That's what makes your comment a mindless insult not "brusque." Particularly when a law says they have to be bonded. What is "tin foil" about seeking to recall somebody that does not follow the law. Allow them to break the law? He uses a 5 dollar word to say its "tin foil" to recall a politician over a real recallable offense. Notice he does not address the law with specifics...he just slings mindless insults...while they block 'confusing" images from public view.
Public official surety bonds, or "official bonds," help protect local governments against financial losses in case of misconduct by their officials or employees, such as fraud, embezzlement, theft, or forgery.
These bonds are to protect public funds, not the individual officers. For personal liability protection, additional insurance such as "errors & omissions" or "directors & officers" may be available for officials and employees who act in good faith.
Official bonds are required for certain staff and elected positions by state law and/or local policy, conditioned upon the official faithfully performing the duties of their office and properly handling any public funds that may come into their possession. The failure of an official to give, renew, or deposit their official bond within the time required by law could prevent the official from taking office or, for elected officials, might create a vacancy under RCW 42.12.010(6).
The general requirements for official bonds are provided in chapter 42.08 RCW. The bond premiums must be paid by the local government (RCW 48.28.040).
Below are selected statutes for common local government types. In some instances, state law prescribes specific bond amounts or minimums, but in many cases the bond amounts are left to the discretion of the local governing body:
All local governments that authorize payments to be issued before approval by their legislative body: RCW 42.24.180
Code cities:
Mayor-council form of government: RCW 35A.12.080
Council-manager form of government: RCW 35A.13.070; RCW 35A.12.080 (referenced by RCW 35A.13.160)
Second class cities: RCW 35.23.081
Towns: RCW 35.27.120
Counties:
County officials generally: RCW 36.16.050-.060
Deputy officials: RCW 36.16.070
County commissioners: RCW 36.32.060
County clerk: RCW 36.23.020
Sheriff: RCW 36.28.030
District court: RCW 3.34.090
Port districts: RCW 53.36.010
Public hospital districts: RCW 70.44.171
Public utility districts (PUDs): RCW 54.24.010
Public transportation benefit areas (PTBAs): RCW 36.57A.130
Water-sewer districts with more than 2,500 customers: RCW 57.20.135
Diking, drainage, sewerage improvement, and/or flood control "special districts": RCW 85.38.080. This statute only applies to "special districts" as defined in RCW 85.38.010 and does not apply to special purpose districts more broadly.
The only reason I have not filed is because the cities claim to be insured and that their policy complies with the bond statute. However, nobody has been willing to say that. Not the City risk pool, the auditor or the secretary of State. I have filed an audit request by the Auditor. So far , its a question nobody wants to answer.
June 3, 2024|In Business Insurance, Insurance|By Keller Insurance Services
Being bonded vs. insured are both forms of financial guarantee.
These guarantees are designed to protect a person or a business in the event of something going wrong. However, they are not the same thing. Being bonded is not the same thing as being insured.
It can be a little confusing when the terms bond insurance and surety bond insurance are used, but being bonded is still not the same as being insured. Being bonded is more like credit, where the risk with the bond lies with the principle, meaning the person buying the bond, not with the insurance company.
Let’s break down being bonded vs. insured a little more:
What is Insurance?
Insurance is a contractual arrangement where an individual or entity, known as the policyholder, pays a premium to an insurance company in exchange for protection against financial losses or liabilities arising from specified risks. In the event of covered losses, such as accidents, injuries, property damage, or other unforeseen events, the insurance company compensates the policyholder or designated beneficiaries as per the insurance policy’s terms.
Insurance spreads and manages risk across a large pool of policyholders, enabling individuals and businesses to mitigate the financial impact of unexpected events and safeguard their assets, health, and livelihoods.
What is bond insurance?
Bond insurance, also known as financial guaranty insurance, is a type of insurance policy that guarantees the timely payment of interest and principal on a bond in the event of a default by the issuer. It provides an additional layer of security to bondholders by protecting them against the risk of non-payment due to issuer insolvency or default. Bond insurance is typically purchased by issuers of municipal bonds, infrastructure bonds, or other debt securities to enhance the creditworthiness of their bonds and lower borrowing costs.
Bond insurance helps attract investors and improve the marketability of bond issuances by assuring timely payment. In the event of a default, the insurance company issuing the bond insurance policy makes payments to bondholders, ensuring that they receive their principal and interest as promised.
Bond insurance plays a crucial role in maintaining confidence in the bond market and facilitating the financing of public infrastructure projects and other capital-intensive endeavors.
What Does Being Bonded Mean?
There are many ways you can be bonded and many bonds for you to choose from. So, let’s have a look at a few:
Surety Bond
A surety bond is a legally binding agreement among three parties: the principal, the obligee, and the surety.
The principal is the party that purchases the bond to guarantee their performance or obligations, such as completing a construction project or fulfilling contractual obligations.
The obligee is the party that requires the bond as a form of protection against the principal’s failure to meet their obligations.
The surety is the insurance company or bonding agency that provides the bond and guarantees the principal’s performance to the obligee.
If the principal fails to fulfill their obligations, the surety compensates the obligee for any financial losses. Surety bonds are commonly used in various industries and sectors to ensure compliance, protect against financial loss, and promote trust and confidence between parties involved in contractual agreements.
License and Permit Bonds
License and permit bonds are a type of surety bond required by government agencies or regulatory bodies as a condition for obtaining a license or permit to engage in certain business activities. These bonds serve as a form of protection for consumers and the public by ensuring that businesses comply with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
License and permit bonds provide financial recourse for individuals or entities harmed by the licensee’s failure to fulfill their obligations, such as non-payment of taxes, violation of zoning regulations, or failure to perform services as agreed.
By requiring businesses to obtain these bonds, government agencies help uphold industry standards, protect consumers from financial harm, and promote integrity and accountability within various sectors.
An American bond to conduct both international and tribal government would cost astronomical amounts of money. The Hartford would never knowingly bond an American official for international or tribal affairs.
While I'm not a fan of today's political polarization, I will out my leaning as a person who left the left in mid life. As a supporter of more conservative views, I am now amused by my more liberal friends discussion points; I hate Trump, you're racist, they are racist, etc.. Seeing the Council member's characterization of your publication; "a vessel of negativity", exposes her leaning. Similarly, I was once an ardent supporter of aboriginal peoples and empathetic to the abuse they incurred. However, those abused and their abusers no longer live. It is both impractical and discriminant to hold a small percentage of a society based upon equality out as different/special/needing more assistance, etc.. We are equal or we are not. I see Jamestown Skallam people as friends and neighbors. Yet a liberal leaning person considers me racist because I see them as equals. It's an ironic conundrum.

Great point. "Our most important partner in governance" (according to Mark Ozias, and now Sequim City Council) almost took our road away from us.
The question people should be asking themselves. Do you want to trust someone who ascribes to communism but has never lived under it's rules and waxes poetically how great it is, or trust someone who has lived under communism and seen it's failings and oppression and believe them when they say we're better off as America?

How?
Likening tribal people to dogs? I would not go there.
I didn't infer the comment as such.
Jeff when I read the two articles in the paper ,one my first and continuing thoughts was HE HAS HIT THE RIGHT NERVES .Keep up the good work.
Of course. That fits both newspapers' agenda of hear no evil, see no evil. ...
Exactly the reason why I won’t pay one dime to support their commie crap!

They are obviously there to break the law and not be held liable.
None of the council members? No wonder the first concern the mayor had for supporting the school measures was geared toward personal exposure.
Official Bonds

Thank you. I had very little understanding of this.
You are most welcome.
The only reason I have not filed is because the cities claim to be insured and that their policy complies with the bond statute. However, nobody has been willing to say that. Not the City risk pool, the auditor or the secretary of State. I have filed an audit request by the Auditor. So far , its a question nobody wants to answer.

The Difference Between Being Bonded vs. Insured
Btw…. Thanks Jeff you are a true blessing !
You're welcome, Paula! I am blessed.
