So maybe today’s $30 fee was to offset the budget issue ! I have never paid for a PUBLIC meeting !

Once again, Jeff, thank you for your diligence and persistence in tracking and recapping events in our distorted county and local gov't's.

There is no doubt that the colonizers' actions had a devastating effect on local native populations...however this is NOT a race issue...colonizers of every stripe and color have devastated and displaced, imprisoned and killed ANY local, regional, or continental group that got in the way of 'progress' and 'agendas'.

There is an interpretive sign along Lake Crescent which states the tribes of S'Klallam and Quileutes' were WARRING with each other and eventually the 'God' of 'Mount Olympus' got angry and hurled It's crown down from the mountain top, damming the big lake and creating Sutherland/Crescent in the process cutting them off from direct contact...the tribes raided and enslaved one another as well as killing and stealing...this is a HUMAN problem... all over the world. Only the means have changed.

Now 'laws' and 'rules' and 'legal processes' are used to dominate, subjugate and displace 'others' and steal their 'wealth'.

I recently became aware that JKT has Construction Divisions...in Seattle, Sequim, Atlanta...

does anyone find that 'odd'?

From the looks of the recent & current ongoing construction efforts Towne Road will be open as soon as the North section of the road and the bridge have been completed~! This will obviously allow for far better emergence services access and just as importantly the rights of folks to move freely & safely within their own community~! Many Americans are growing sick and tired of this nasty old game where shady people get into government and politics for personal gain and the population is supposed to pretend that they don't see what is going on behind all of those unconstitutional closed-door meetings and "private conversations" that lead to the mismanagement of public funds, public property, and the rights of the general public to enjoy their own communities~! There is no room in the future for "special interests" of shady individuals who have no problem manipulating & twisting things for their own personal power & profit~! In America we are judged not by how great and happy the wealthiest people are, but rather how great and happy the lives of those who work for a living at the lowest end of the economic scale are~! Doing questionable things to prevent proper emergency access and to block folks from the free use of their own community is nothing short of criminal regardless of the phony contrived excuses. M

The news for Clallam County continues to worsen. Jeff, because of your skills and talents, we know the intricacies of these problems. As for Ms. Lehman's comments and concerns about the missing children, does she know that this year the Biden/Harris Administration lost 325,000 migrant children? These children entered our country with an illegal alien adult. Our County welcomes illegal aliens with open arms and open wallets. The focus of our Commissioners and tribal partners should be safety and enforcing our laws - not proclamations that promote a false sense of pride. Thank you, Jeff, and good luck on your campaign.

I love the proclamation of tolerance etc etc etc….. now it would be nice if it were reciprocal… I went to my cousins tribal festivities a couple of years ago over near Kingston… holy cow my husband and I were stared at like we were something new… I actually felt sorry for them as the acted like children… it was interesting but sad. There is a Big problem there and here and it’s the governing bodies not the literal people…

They will really feel the pinch when I go after the Duns numbers. The grants trail wont be able save them. They paid $64,000 yesterday to an international planning organization on a $200,000 contract. All to do what an international governing body tells them to do. We should be getting ?200,000 to do what an international governing body tells us to do. They just don't listen. They needed a bigger cut of the recreational marijuana money. Been telling them that for years but they are more concerned with retribution to the tribe that has money now. Pandering scoundrels.

at least we have one evening meeting on the budget. I wonder what commissioner will attend the meeting on the 22nd in Sunland?

Good point. That meeting, the only one held in Ozias' district, is scheduled during a commissioner meeting, which presents a schedule conflict for him. Maybe it's intentional.

There aren't too many 'accidents' in politics. Lots of conflicts though. The Dems are organizing ONE PARTY systems in swing states, dominating by (using illegal migrants as 'constituents') so they will have no real competition in the electoral process. Not that the other side isn't full of compromised RINO's with their own twisted agendas.

Historical times folks...and here we are right in the thick of it. God bless us, everyone...maybe not so much the 'evil' ones'.😱🧐🤡🤫👹😵‍💫🤪🤑✍🏿🙏🏼🙏🏼

A quick google search brings up this:

"According to the Washington State Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA), governing bodies of public agencies are required to hold their meetings open to the public, with certain exceptions. There is no provision in the OPMA that allows governments to charge for admission to public meetings.

In fact, the OPMA explicitly states that “all persons” have the right to attend the meetings of governing bodies of public agencies (Wash. Rev. Code § 42.30.040). This means that the public has unrestricted access to observe and participate in meetings, without any fee or admission charge.

Additionally, the OPMA prohibits governing bodies from imposing conditions on attendance, such as requiring registration or completion of a questionnaire (Wash. Rev. Code § 42.30.040). This ensures that the public can freely attend meetings without any barriers or restrictions.

It’s worth noting that while governments cannot charge for admission to public meetings, they may incur costs associated with hosting and conducting meetings, such as facility rental fees, audio-visual equipment, and staff time. These costs are typically borne by the government agency itself, rather than being passed on to the public in the form of admission fees.

In summary, based on the Washington State Open Public Meetings Act, governing bodies of public agencies in Washington State are not permitted to charge for admission to public meetings. The public has a fundamental right to attend and participate in these meetings without any fee or restriction."

Is this correct? And if so has anyone challenged the county?

Thanks for researching this, TJ. I know Commissioner Ozias is a fan of the Open Public Meetings Act as he has cited it multiple times when explaining why he can't attend Town Halls. Here are emails for the 3 commissioners, Administrator Mielke, CFO Lane, and Clerk Gores who will make sure your email becomes part of the public record. And then this:

"Government agencies violating the Open Public Meetings Act’s admission-free requirement may face the following consequences:

Fines and Penalties: Open meeting laws often include provisions for fines or penalties for non-compliance. The fines can vary in amount and may be levied against individual members of the public body, the government agency as a whole, or both.

Mandatory Training and Education: Public officials who violate open meeting laws may be required to undergo training or education on these laws to prevent future violations.

Attorney’s Fees: Some open meeting laws allow for the recovery of attorney’s fees by individuals or organizations that successfully challenge violations in court.

Public Relations Impact: Non-compliance with open meeting laws can hurt the reputation of the government agency and its officials, eroding public trust and confidence in the government’s transparency and accountability.

Void Actions: Any action taken at a meeting held in violation of the Open Meetings Act is null and void (RCW 42.30.060(1)).

Personal Liability: Any member of a governing body who attends a meeting knowing that it violates the Open Meetings Act is subject to a potential personal liability of $500 for the first violation and $1,000 for a subsequent one (RCW 42.30.120(1)(2)).

Costs and Fees: Any person who prevails against an agency in any action in the courts for a violation of the Open Meetings Act will be awarded all costs, including attorney fees, incurred in connection with such legal action.

It just keeps getting weirder and weirder...surreal...outrageous...exclusive...divisive...biased...exclusionary...the devil is delighted...me, not so much. Keep the info flowing I guess...some need a 2x4 to wake them up...some never will...we certainly have enough potential to show up in such numbers and demand they will step down, which is the only peaceful recourse...they will never change their minds, although that is theoretically possible...the only way to get rid of bad apples is to throw them out. Then never let them hold public power again. How soon we forget.

Another excellent exposé, Jeff! Thank you.

With such wanton disregard for our citizens' tax expenditures, we must make a special effort to ensure that the voting public is aware of Ozias' malfeasance and favoritism when he is up for election again. We, the people, can ensure an abrupt end to his political career.

Here we go again with triumphing "minority" causes. The bottomless pit we call minorities can never not be. Gender, skin color, body type, hair, ancestry, sexual orientation and more are the breeding grounds of minority status. If you take the societal effort to end the minority status of one grouping, another minority is born. Each of us is genetically unique. Accordingly each of us constitutes a minority of one. I cannot reconcile sovereignty rights to hunt and fish in usual and accustomed places outside of U.S. citizenship resource laws with the simultaneous rights and access to U.S. citizenship. Indigenous people have no ancestral claim to sanitation systems, transportation systems, mechanized travel and fishing technology as a whole. Being a sovereign nation has it's advantages. Being a U.S. citizen has it's advantages. Why does an isolated group of inhabitants only get the benefit of both ? The abused indigenous people and their abusers no longer live. If we are to honor ancestral history, why do we only honor the conquered side of history ? We have taken reparations to a point where it is the non-indigenous that are discriminated against.
